COBRA insurance questions I have gotten though Email

My company went bankrupt after most of us were laid off. I'd sent in an application for COBRA, but received a letter in return stating my employer had discontinued the COBRA administration service, so my request could not be processed. My company no longer exists. Am I entitled to COBRA? --

Ruth:

You may qualify personally, but the problem is there is no plan left for you to continue.

COBRA is a continuation of benefits, and you get the same coverage as the current employees. If there is no employer, employees and health plan administrator to administer the plan, you have to go a different route.

Go here if you are healthy and want private health insurance.

Hope this helps
