	COBRA insurance questions I have gotten though Email Sirs, My coverage expired in Dec of 2000. I would like to have a continuation, but don't know how to go about it. In the 18 months that I had cobra, I had no major sickness, and am wondering why I cannot get continuation of coverage. Can you help me. Barbara Z Barbara: There are several instances where your continuation coverage would last longer, but if it expired, that must not be the case. If you have no medical problems, get private health insurance here. If you had a major medical problem in the last 5 years, get your certificate of coverage from your carrier, and try and get a plan under HIPAA, from the same company or another private health insurer.
