I might have to go out on disability. I read somewhere that cobra can be extended to 36 months, can it. also how long does the obama plan subsidy for cobra lasts?

I am not didabled but currently on Cobra and have been for 17 months. I took another job with a new company and while on Cobra was terminated from the new job in less than 60 days. Can I get my cobra benefits extended for another 18 months. I am in California.

yes you need to be enroll in CAL-COBRA. It will cost you 110% of your group coverage, vs. 102% from COBRA so you will see an increase in premium.

When officially disabled, you could extend cobra. When you're on COBRA and found by the SSA to be disabled at termination, let the plan administrator knows so the 18 months are extended to 29 months.
