Sam:

You have to notify the health plan administrator ASAP. You only have 60 days from the day you lost your health coverage.

CT COBRA or federal COBRA will not apply if she is in a self-insured health plan, common to many large employers.

Divorce and COBRA

Connecticut Mini COBRA Law

And COBRA can be very expensive, if you are otherwise healthy, get private health insurance

Divorce sucks! Make sure your HR department knows if you like your health plan or have pre exisiting conditions.

have you specified who pays what insurance in the case of the divorce? We don't know if you were a higher income earner or her, etc. Once you see the premiums, you might not be too interested in COBRA, unless you have a pre existing condition.
