My estranged husband canceled my and our kids health insurance. We are not yet divorced but legally separated. Do we qualify?

Divorce and COBRA insurance

Contact your ex-husband's HR department. They have to notify the carrier of the termination of your group health insurance. His employer has 30 days to notify the health plan admin people of the termination. The group health plan admin people have 14 days to get the paperwork to you. You will have 60 days to elect the coverage (don't send in a waiver) and another 45 days after that to pay the rather large premiums.
