When your COBRA continuation benefits end


Cobra continuation ends after:

  • Premiums aren't paid past the grace period
  • Up to 36 months (Dependents and spouses)
  • After 18 months (Qualified beneficiaries)
  • You move out of the plan's coverage area
  • The employer discontinue group benefits
  • You enroll or become eligible for another group plan
  • You buy an individual policy
  • A beneficiary or spouse becomes entitled to medicare benefits.
