COBRA insurance questions I have gotten though Email

The wife is currently on cobra health insurance til 06-30-01. She will have been on the program for 29 mo. She received the 11 mo. extension due to receiving social security disability payments. Social security states that she will be eligible for medicare 2 yrs after the start of receiving social security payments. My question is; Can she remain to have the cobra health insurance til she can receive medicare insurance in year 2002? I am able to get other insurance for her, but it would be more beneficial to her if she could remain on current plan. Thank you.

29 months in the longest time frame I know of that will allow you to receive COBRA benefits when disabled. I don't think there is anything you can do, but elect that other plan if you have access to one.
