Welcome to the COBRA Health Insurance Forum. We want you to become an active, informed and informative participant, and that you help keep this community an enjoyable and educational environment for each visitor. As a participant, please keep in mind:

• The terms and conditions of the registration agreement that you acknowledged during your registration.
• The privacy policy of the COBRA Health Insurance web site, of which this forum is a feature.
• The rules in this page, also posted in the Read Me First forum.

• Who can post here?
  Any individual is welcome to post on topics of interest to the COBRA Health Insurance Forum, whether or not you are a member. The COBRA Health Insurance Forum reserves the right to disable the permissions, limit access to the board, ban users, and edit or delete topics and posts at the discretion of volunteer moderators.
• You are responsible
  You are responsible for what you post, and what you use. All posts made are the opinions and views of the author and not necessarily those of the COBRA Health Insurance Forum. The COBRA Health Insurance Forum is not responsible for the veracity or validity of any information posted here, nor do we vouch for the authenticity or the identity of any of the posters. By participating in the COBRA Health Insurance Forum, You agree the COBRA Health Insurance Forum and its representatives will not be held liable for any information or message posted to any discussion forum and disclaims all liability resulting from any action or inaction taken as a result of reading or posting a message in any discussion forum.
• No banner advertising
  Banner advertisements for products or services is prohibited unless previously approved or enacted by the administrator. Text links will be allowed if accompanied by helpful, relevant content. Posters may be banned for repeated or egregious violations. Exceptions: Affiliate links are acceptable when recommendations are on-topic. By virtue of hosting this forum at no cost to visitors, the COBRA Health Insurance Forum and/or its affiliates may from time to time advertise fund-raising items intended to benefit the COBRA Health Insurance, its projects, or its affiliated clubs.
• No non informative solicitations
  If you add value and info to a post or topic, you will be allowed to place a link to your service. However, please keep the COBRA Health Insurance Forum as a marketplace of ideas and advice, not a marketplace for non informative solicitations. Discussion about health insurance and benefits is encouraged, but any use of the board to purely solicit business is not. This includes posting requests for others to contact you, posting links to pages where health insurance or cobra compliance is offered, making referrals to specific consultants, and any posting that could even remotely be considered a pure solicitation only.
• Stay on-topic
  Post in the appropriate forum and remain on-topic. Start a new topic if you wish to introduce a new subject. Follow-ups should usually be posted to the original topic. Ignore posting errors and duplicate posts. A moderator will usually fix them. The COBRA Health Insurance Forum is for discussion about COBRA Health Insurance. Virus warnings, urban legends, world events - all are off topic unless COBRA Health Insurance is somehow related to the topic. As a practical matter, more leeway is allowed within a topic for 'drift' than in obviously off-topic new topics.
• Feel free to post away (with helpful, relevant info)
  We encourage you to participate actively, enthusiastically, and frequently. We encourage participation by the broadest audience possible, so you are welcome to participate in as many different conversations as you have interest in. It helps if you have personal knowledge or expertise in the subject you are posting, to avoid being flamed.
• Posts that will be edited, deleted, or get you banned
  • Posts containing offensive racial, gender, sexual preference, religious, political, or nationality-bashing language.
  • Solicitation for money making schemes (such as discount medical cards) which in our opinion are unethical.
  • Any post containing language that is offensive in a public, family context.
  • Links to inappropriate content.
  • Repeated posting of the same or similar messages, and "bumping" a topic more than once.
  • Cross-posts and link dumps.
  • Posts only designed to promote a specific website or service.
  • Any post that violates the letter or spirit of any item described in this list, in these guidelines, or in any announcement or pinned topic posted by a board administrator or moderator.
