COBRA insurance questions I have gotten though Email

I have a new, very good job opportunity. When I expressed my concerns about my daughters 'preexisting' health problem, they said that there would be no problem getting coverage. If I change jobs, what would be the impact on my coverage and what are some options I would have so that my coverage cost won't negate the benefits of the new job opportunity? Can COBRA just cover may daughter and the rest be covered under a family plan?

Bascially, What is the impact on my group coverage with a 'preexisting' health problem?

C:

With group coverage, there should be no medical questions, so I would say your new employer is right. COBRA is mighty expensive, but your daughter may need it as interim coverage (if you have a waiting period at the new company).

I would make sure she qualifies for COBRA, by using our site and talking to someone in your current HR department. But this may not be impractical. If her issues are serious, the only viable options you have are COBRA or the new plan. Find out your new employers waiting period, and how much COBRA would cost your daughter.

Sincerely,
