COBRA insurance problems (with solutions) I have gotten though EmailIn addition, my husband was originally set up under the company policy but they needed to change it for some reason and elected this route. Twick Twick: Well, if you weren't technically an employee they should have never put you into the employer plan. Since you were in the employee plan, you should be offered COBRA. It sounds like they wanted the best of both worlds. Always remember, that COBRA coverage is an entitlement benefit. You may have to talk to the administrator of the plan, and tell them about your situation, and that it is unacceptable. If your husband was an independent contractor, they don't have to offer it to him. Find out if you are eligible here. If you aren't, you can always get temporary health insurance here, from a private company Hope this helps, |
