My husband and I just qualified for subsidary insurance with Cobra. I am in the middle of going through a program for the lapband and my other insurance (work) does not cover the lap band. My sheet says it if I have another group insurance that I cannot have the cobra. What do I do?

Lapband is elective no? That's your answer.

You can have COBRA if your other plan has waiting periods or excludes pre existing conditions. Just having other group insurance does not automatically disqualify you.

The subsidy cost the tax payers billions. Now you want them to pay for your lapband surgery? Eat less!
