PPO plan expiring

Postby kelly » Sun May 22, 2011 11:47 am

I have a PPO plan that will be expiring July 31. I obtained this insurance through my graduate program that I recently finished. I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and although my husband has a job, he's an independent contractor and does not get benefits- and I'm having a tough time finding a FT job so far. I was wondering if I would qualify for COBRA since my program was through a university. I am also wondering if COBRA offers any PPO plans since the doctor I am seeing for this pregnancy only accepts PPOs at this time. Thanks so much.

If you are under 26, you could go on your parent's program.

what do you mean, ppo plan expiring? You mean your time on the plan is over? You probably qualify, I dunno. Call the benefits office and ask them.

Are you a student or employee at the university? If student, could you continue to take course, just to qualify for the insurance (if they cover maternity). Just an idea.
