I left my job and decided to continue my dental and vision insurance under COBRA because I was able to change my plan from HMO to PPO during open enrollment. I made the change with an effective date of 01/01/2012, as the the COBRA carrier (Ceridian) shows. The problem is the plan has not been updated on the insurance carrier's end. I have made many, many calls to no avail. The insurance insists that I am showing Dental HMO coverage (which is less than half the cost I am paying for PPO/Standard Dental Plus). I don't know who the regulator for COBRA dental insurance is in California. Ceridian says they have updated the information to BSC multiple times and since they have the right information and I used to work for BSC I am inclined to believe Ceridian. Please advise my next step.

Cal-COBRA is jointly regulated by the CDI and the Department of Managed Health Caredepending upon the type of group coverage (indemnity or HMO).
