My friend retired as a school teacher this year. Her last school day was on June 10th of this year but her contract allows her to be paid through August 31, 2005. She is accruing sick leave and paying into P.E.R.S. through this period.
Did the qualifying event take place on June 10th or does it place on August 31st?
The school system wants her to begin paying for her COBRA now.
