My father just retired on 6/28/05. He had an employee health plan with Blue Cross during his employment. He did not elect COBRA yet, but I understand he has 60 days to do so. If he incurs medical bills (from doctor visits, labs,etc.) and then elects COBRA after the fact, woulsd those medical bills then be covered or only those incurred from the point at which he elects COBRA forward?
