payment made but terminated for nonpayment
I have been on COBRA for 12 months. I was sent a bill every month and I paid every month's bill in full. I recently got a notice from them that they had miscalculated the monthly premium and I should have been paying more. They added up how much I had paid in relation to how much I should have paid and sent me a notice showing termination for nonpayment 60 days ago. I understand you have pay whether you get a bill or not, but are you also liable to verify they are billing the correct amount? How do you know? Can they do this? And, of course, they also want reimbursed for all bills they paid during the last 2 months for prescriptions and doctor visits. The fact that pharmacies and Drs. contact the insurance company each time shows that there was no termination those months because they paid. Are you liable for the billing company's mistake?
