COBRA Eligibility
My position with company A was dissolved and I was laid off. However, my benefits with company A continue through 9/14. I have since found employment with company B. My benefits were effective with company B on 9/1. So, from a period of 9/1 - 9/14, I have primary and secondary coverage. I would like to COBRA my coverage with company A for one month, as my wife is giving birth (lots of expenses) and it will likely be after 9/14 (when my benefits with company A expire).
Am I eligible to participate in COBRA with my old company if I have secured benefits with another group health plan prior to applying for COBRA?
