Robert

If she did not accept the coverage when she was eligible, then there is no plan for her to continue. There is nothing for her to lose, sine she has no qualifying event now. Is there a way she could participate in the employer plan even for one day? I would enroll the next open enrollment period.

: My wife's last day of work work for her previous company was in early April 2004, and her insurance coverage with this company ended on
: April 30th. She began her new job at the end of April, and began her waiting period for this company's insurance at the same time. As of
: August1st, she became insured again. She did not choose COBRA coverage during the time she was uninsured ( a lapse of 90 days).

: Now she is having some health problems and may have to stop working full time. My question is this: Is she now eligible for Cobra insurance (if she had to quit), or would she need to be working 18 months straight from her new employed date to be eligible to recieve it again?

: Thanks so much for your help.
