Thank you for bringing this to our attention, the Illinois Health Insurance Continuation Rights Law was revised in December 2003, Coverage is provided for a maximum of 9 months.

: I worked for a company that had 10 employees. When he sold the company I was told I would get COBRA for 18 months. They are now switching to a new insurance carrier and that carrier is saying I get COBRA benefits for only 9 months. On the web site it says: Illinois 2-19 employess maybe eligible for 18 months of COBRA. Are there exceptions to the 9 month rule? Thanks for any help
