Company Changing Name
I was terminated from my employer last week. They told me that my health coverage ended the same day and not through the end of the month. Is this legal? Additionally, the first of the year they are changing the name of the company, basically starting a new one with the same health coverage in place. They are self insured up to $50k. Are they required to give me COBRA after the old company closes and they start the new one. The assumption is that they actually close the old company.
