COBRA Premiums not forwarded to Insurance Co.
I resigned my position and elected for COBRA coverage. My prior employer stated that the coverage was Aprox $436. monthly and to pay directly to them(prior employer). I did pay consistently for 16 months to prior employer who (unaware to me) did not forward monies in my name to insurance company. I became aware of this when my wife had medical exam and claims were denied for non-coverage. We called insurance company and they stated that we were never enrolled. When we Question prior employer and asked them if we were not covered and since we filed no claims we wanted our money back. However, prior employer and insurance company consulted and prior employer sent all back payments we made to insurance company and said we were covered and they no longer have my money. Insurnce company then honored the one claim we just filed and said we are covered.
What do I do? if Anything.
