No, it IS correct, Susan. As stated in the very first question in the FAQ: "Your notice must be provided in person or by first class mail within 44 days that a qualifying event has occurred." The employer has 30 days to notify the plan administrator, then the plan administrator has 14 days to notify the employee. Total of 44 days. If the employer is also the plan administrator they get the whole 44 days. And the employee has 45 days to pay the premium.
