If I lose coverage from termination of a job on January 1st, I then have 60 days to gain coverage with COBRA. Should I have a claim on
February 1st, but have not enrolled in COBRA yet, will that claim still be covered under COBRA if I enroll immediately following like on February 5th (35 days from termination with priot company) or do only claims that are covered post enrollment qualify? I thought I heard COBRA will cover prior cases but the policyholder must pay in retro.

ex. End coverage 12-31-05 with employer.

Claim on 1-15-06

Enroll in COBRA 2-1-06

Claim is covered under COBRA but I am billed retro beginning 1-1-06.

Is this accurate?
