Retroactive Termination of Insurance
My husband was put on administratibe leave and then terminated in February. We kept checking with our health insurance co. and they said that we were still covered all the way up to September. Out of the blue at the end of September the employer cancels the coverage retroactively to February. Is this legal? Now they send us COBRA forms which state that we have to pay from the date of termination which has now ben retroactive to February. What recourse do we have now?
