seeking verification of increased COBRA premium
my former employer has informed me that insurance costs have gone up and that I must pay more for my COBRA coverage. he has not provided any written verification from Oxford, the carrier, of the increase. i requested such verification from Oxford but they will not provide it - they say they won't deal with me, only with my former employer's HR administrator, and referred me to him/her or to the Dept of Labor (???!!!). it is a small company, fewer than 12 people- there was no HR administrator when I was there. I would rather not deal with my former employer as I have reason not to trust him. Can Oxford refuse the information I requested? Where/how else do I get the verification I am looking for? Meanwhile I am not 100% certain of the validity of the increase.
