: We are having the same problem, we have paid 3 months of cobra premiums and the agent says everything is fine and verified but the insurance company keeps denying our coverage and prescriptions. We don't know what to do, hope someone else can tell both of us. The took our money but no coverage.

:
: : I started paying on my COBRA August 2007. I have always had it paid before the first of the following month. My ex-employer sent me a letter post marked September 26,2007. The letter stating that I had not paid my dental premiums since I started COBRA. I had stated at my termination in the presence of the insurance carrier and the office mananger that I did not want the dental which was 46.55 per month, but that I wanted to Have the COBRA insurance. In the letter he stated if I wanted to continue my COBRA I had to let him know in writing within a reasonable amount of time that my coverage would be terminated as of September 30, 2007. I received the letter on Sept 27th, and had bought a money order on the same day. I went into his office and he was not there on Oct 28th and gave the money order and a letter, saying that I wished to continue the COBRA medical but again I did not want the dental. I asked the receptionist to sign the paper and make a copy for my self stating that she had received the money order and the letter. She told me that the employer had stated that nobody including the office manager were to sign anything for me. The 29th was on a Saturday and Sunday was the 30th, so I had no choice but to leave the money order and letter. On the 17th of Oct I went to get my prescriptions refilled and was told that I had no coverage. I called the insurance company and they told me that they didn't know what was going on and that they would get back to me. I called about the money order and my ex employer cashed it on Oct. 3rd. I kept calling Aetna and they kept telling me that they were looking into it. I then received a letter from Aetna on the 19th of Oct saying thast my coverage stopped 9/30/07. The certificate also stated that it was prepared on Oct. 5th. But all that time they wouldn't tell me anything. Sorry for the long post. But does anyone know what can happen if my ex-emploer canceled my COBRA and still cashed my money order for $541.00?
: : Thanks in advance for the advice.
