I asked the receptionist to sign the paper and make a copy for my self stating that she had received the money order and the letter. She told me that the employer had stated that nobody including the office manager were to sign anything for me. The 29th was on a Saturday and Sunday was the 30th, so I had no choice but to leave the money order and letter. On the 17th of Oct I went to get my prescriptions refilled and was told that I had no coverage. I called the insurance company and they told me that they didn't know what was going on and that they would get back to me. I called about the money order and my ex employer cashed it on Oct. 3rd. I kept calling Aetna and they kept telling me that they were looking into it. I then received a letter from Aetna on the 19th of Oct saying thast my coverage stopped 9/30/07. The certificate also stated that it was prepared on Oct. 5th. But all that time they wouldn't tell me anything. Sorry for the long post. But does anyone know what can happen if my ex-emploer canceled my COBRA and still cashed my money order for $541.00?
