Hello, I am a former full time employee of the NYC public school system (full time classroom teacher). I resigned from my postion this August 31, 2008 (38 days ago). However, I am pregnant (five months today) and I need health coverage. My health insurance with CIGNA (whom insured me through the NYC Board of Ed.) ended when I resigned this August 31, 2008. I want to apply for COBRA but there is a lot of confusing information to wade through. Please direct me to whom I can contact for the necessary steps to apply for COBRA health insurance before it is too late. Thank you very much for your time.
