Classic he said, she said.
This info may have been given to you in your initial COBRA notice. Were you making COBRA payments for October, November and December?
Even if you elect, you still have to pay, or they have a complete right to cancel you.

: My wife and I have been on Cobra since I lost my job in 2007. January 26,th was the last day of 18 month coverage. I called Cobraserv and asked if there was anyway I could continue coverage since we already met the very high deductible. The lady I spoked to in October, 2008 said if my wife or myself were on Social Security disability, we could get another 11 months. She said all I had to do was mail proof. We mailed proof in December because it looked like I had a good prospect for a job. That did not come true so we mailed the proof and then received a letter saying we did not mail soon enough. One has to mail this 60 days prior to the end date. We were never told and were left with no insurance, since our answer came 2 days before Cobra ended. I do not see how this is fair. If the lady would have said you have to get it here by 60 days before cobra ended, I would have sent it in right away.
