Look up your state's mini cobra laws. Fderally I would say no. But contact your plan admin.

: We are a small business with 13 employees. Five which are on the company health plan. One employee left without notice who had been on the plan. Do I have to notify him that we are concelling his insurance and give him the opportunity to pick it up on his own?
