Company switching insurance providers - still covered under Cobra?
I am covered by Cobra from my ex-husband's old company plan. I was told I had 36 months of coverage, and have gone through about 24 months of it thus far. I just learned that his old company is switching insurance providers and was told my coverage would end Sept. 1. I am wondering if they still must extend Cobra coverage to me via their new insurance company provider for another 12 months, or do they have the right to tell me my Cobra coverage is ending because they switched plans? Thank you!
