Cobra Adminintrator Abuse
My wife was laid off from her job in January of 2009 and we did not elect to choose Cobra immediately. After receiving the letter for reduced Cobra premiums we immediately signed up. Our Cobra administrator did not communicate for 4 months but I called several times to check status of our application. Last week we received 3 months worth of invoices and when I called I was told that we were due 5 months worth of premiums to be able to continue coverage. Why am I am I supposed to pay for these months when we did not have coverage? Is there a government agency that I can complain too?
