Yes. You can continue COBRA for up to 36 months depending on your situation, as long as you do not obtain other insurance or become covered under your new employer's group health policy. You should not have COBRA continuation and a second insurance at the same time (x2 coverage) because of the expense. When you become eligible for your new employers plan and you decline it to keep the COBRA coverage, you will have to wait until open enrollment to be added to the new employers plan.

: The person in question gets laid off from a full time job with benefits. The person elects to take cobra. The person gets a temporary 2 month job with out benefits. Is the person still eligible to receive the cobra benefits while working the temporary job?
