As a dependent, your son should be eligible for benefits since there is a qualifying event. You also mentioned "husband has a new job, but their insurance will not cover our son?"

If you phrased that as a question to us, we do not have the your plan details.

: My husband was a full-time teacher at Ridgewood High School in Norridge Illinois. His contract was not renewed and his health benefits were continued by the school until September 1st. Our son who is 19 was also covered under his plan. Can we continue to cover our son under Cobra alone without my husband having to continue under Cobra as well. My husband has a new job, but their insurance will not cover our son? Thanx in advance for your advice.
