The requirements to qualify for COBRA continuation health insurance did not change, only the subsidy of it.

I would check your State's mini COBRA law, but federally, you do not have to offer COBRA.

However, if you did, the government might subsidize 65% of the premiums in the for of tax rebates. I say might, because technically they don't qualify for COBRA. Are there health insurance plan rules you can check?

: I might need to la of an employee around the end of January. We are a small medical practice and only have 8 employees on payroll. We currently pay 100% of our employees medical benefits. If I lay off this employee will we have to pay part of her cobra if she elects to have it?
