making payment of continuing coverage
My husband's former employer is insisting the Cobra payment be made out to his co. The new employer cannot give him coverage until the 3 month trial period is up. The new employer insists on making the check to the Insurance Co, which I can understand. Does the former employer have to accept the checks and submit payment for coverage even though they are not made out to his liking. How come we cannot pay the insurance co direct. I do remember doing this when I was on Cobra a long time. I had a payment booklet. Please advise.
