I am confused about the "part-time employees" change. If you lost your health insurance, that's a qualifying event. Since you resigned, you are no longer an employee there. If you were a part time employee, you still might have qualified for COBRA, since you would have been losing your benefits otherwise.

: I resigned on 12/24/08. My employer discontinued my health coverage because the plan was changed to NOT include part-time employees as of 1/1/09.
: Am I still eleigible for COBRA because I resigned before the change?
: Also, do I have to retain family coverage or can I just cover myself?
