That is a huge widespread problem, are you disabled, even as a result of your cancer? Have you been ruled disabled by the SS admin?
If so, you might be able to extend your coverage to 36 months.

: I am on COBRA after a 27 year career with a Major corporation from a massive company layoff in 2009. My COBRA ends in January 2011.

: I have cancer and other pre-existing conditions....according to the high risk pool proposed policies, I would need to wait six months with ZERO insurance before I could enroll.........what am I supposed to do if something happens within the six months and need extensive treatment? mortgage my house? oh wait I can't I am underwater..........
