Were you warned and made aware continued absences would mean loss of your job? If your conduct was a series of repeated violations of employment rules and you regularly and wantonly disregarded obligations to the employer....
You can appeal the firing, or ask the company to let you resign, to preserve your COBRA rights and unemplyment benefits.

: I was fired for "gross misconduct" because of excessive absenteeism. I was denied unemployment & COBRA insurance. Can I appeal?
