Comments: After reading term of eligibility for COBRA (18 moths or 36 months)I have a
question. I am 68 years still working full time for an employer having more
than 20 employees. I have health insurance coverage thru my employer for myself and my wife. I am eligible for Medicare. (I am signed up for Medicare but do not use it as my health
insurance thru employer is primary. If I retire from working for my present
employer is this a "qualifying event"? I would then use Medicare for myself and my
wife should be covered under Cobra for 36 months or only 18 months? Thank you for your consideration.
