They are wrong, South Carolina Plans with 2-19 employees can qualify for 6 months. A second COBRA election period may be available for TAA (trade dislocated worker) eligible people who
did not elect COBRA when it was first offered.

Help

: I am out on medical disability leave and don't know when I will or if I will be able to return to work. I live in SC and my work has less than 20 employees, I was told they do not have to offer me Cobra. Since this does not cost them anything why can't I pick up this group ins. on my own at the same rate directly from BCBS. I have been employed there over 5 years , any help would be appreciated.
