I am confused, the COBRA plan is continuation coverage and is identical to what the company is offered. In other words, if the employees are offered a bundled plan including the drug plan, you get to enjoy that also. If the dug plan is optional to the current employees, you can opt out also.

: Is a company allowed to change the way they offer benefits in the COBRA package? My company offers medical benefits and an optional precription plan. This was optional (last year) on the cobra plan and we decided not to take this option when my daughter was no longer covered by my company's insurance plan. This year they changed the rules of the cobra plan and it was no longer an option, you had to take the additional precription plan (at nearly 1/4 the cost of the medical plan). This precription plan is still optional at my company. Are they legally allowed to do this?
