To be eligible for COBRA, he needs a qualifying event, like cancellation of his health insurance. He still has some time to pay and turn in the paperwork. Especially with some outstanding doctors bills, he should choose the COBRA and it will be effective retroactively.

: Me and my husband were divorced on January 18 he just received COBRA information from my employer the letter states they cancelled his insurance the day before our divorce. Can they do this?? He has seen the Dr. 3x since the 18th will he be responsible for the bills.
