Comments: My last day of work was April 20th 2005, My medical premium was
paid thru the end of April. The company I worked for has more than 20
employees. I left voluntarily. The company sent me a notice dated 05-01-2005
stating that my montly premium is due on the 20th of the month prior to the
month of coverage. I have a 20 day grace period from the due date in which
to make payment. My payment is due May 20th 2005, if payment is not recieved
by this date benefits will be cancelled. Once cobra benefits are cancelled
they cannot be reinstated. My question, I thought you had 60 days in which
to decide whether you wanted to continue under cobra, and then up to 45 days
to bring all payments up to date..
your comments are very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
