HIPAA violation???
After separating from a company, I continued my benefits for three months after separation. I sent a letter to the firm to cancel my insurance because I got another job and my insurance benefits were commencing. The letter I sent to the firm, was sent around to other members of the firm - administrative staff that do not have any input on the insurance matters. Is this a violation of HIPAA because my status was discussed with other members?
