If I am understanding correctly, then I believe you would not be entitled to the 36 months of coverage, only 29 months.
Based only on the original date and the SSDI determination, you would both be eligible for 29 months, so coverage would end 10/31/05.
There may be confusion on this because the IRS issued a ruling last year regarding Medicare as a second qualifying event, and it gets very confusing. I think this document explains it fairly well:
