"The final regulations establish a mechanism for the treatment of payments that are short by an insignificant amount. Either the plan must treat the payment as satisfying the plan's payment requirement or it must notify the qualified beneficiary of the amount of the deficiency and grant the qualified beneficiary a reasonable period of time for the deficiency to be paid. The final regulations provide that, as a safe harbor, a period of 30 days is deemed to be a reasonable period for this purpose."

: I was using this service between jobs. I made a mistake and wrote my first check to them for 20 CENTS less than the required amount. 20 cents...not 20 dollars or 200 dollars!!! They spent more money on returning the check to me to tell me I needed to write them a whole new check for the full amount. In that time period, I do not have insurance. Once this 2 months is over, they can have their business and they will not get any referrals from me. By the way, I am a physician.
