employers questions
My mother (age 65) was layed-off from a job that she's had for over 30 years. It's a small company (over 20 employees) and they called back nearly all but the "OLD" employees. She received a call from the health plan administrator from her company and she asked my mother a few personal questions about her ailments and what type of medication she is on, etc. The woman said she needed it for COBRA reasons. Does this sound right? Do they need to know that kind of personal medical information to enroll her in COBRA? It sounded odd to me.
