notice of premium increase?
I left my job on 4/22/05, COBRA was to start 5/1/05. AFter many delays ("misunderstandings") I was told how much to pay by the COBRA company, not my employer. Just received notice my coverage cancelled for nonpayment. I provided copies of cancelled checks showing payment, now they say the premium increased on 5/1/05 and they want me to pay retroactively. Cobra company says they're not required to notify me, talk to my former employer. Former employer says they mailed me notice, and gave me a copy of what they supposedly sent to me (and I never received) but the date of the "notice" they supposedly mailed me is dated BEFORE I left the company or even gave my notice. So I am now told I have to pay 2 months retro difference and this month's premium with increased amount within 30 days. Do I have to pay retro amount since their "notice" is wrong?
