employee late with payment
An employee was terminated mid-June 2005. He elected coverage under State Continuation (New York) and paid the premium for the month of July (payment rec'd around June 28th). He was notified via certified return receipt mail that the premium had to be to me by the 28th of each month preceeding coverage (i.e. pay me by July 28th for August premium). I have not yet received payment for August or September premiums. The health insurance company billed me for both August and September on the bill that is due on September 1st. My question is: he is past thirty days of when I told him the premium was due - does it matter that I had not yet been billed by the insurance company for the August coverage? Since they didn't bill me for August until the month was almost over does that mean that he has a thirty grace period for BOTH August and September premiums? Sign me confused...
