Stopping COBRA
I have been on COBRA since July 04 and will be getting insurance coverage starting March 20 05 from my husband's new employer. I know there is a grace period of 63 days that you do not need coverage when going from one ins to another so that pre existing doesn't apply. I am trying to decide, however, when to make my last COBRA payment. My payments are due on the 30th of each month and right now I'm pd up til Jan 05. Is there a grace period for making my premium payment in case I need to make a claim and haven't made my pymt yet? Or will I be taking a chance that I won't need my ins from the end of Jan until my new ins starts in March. Please let me know so I can make the decision of when to stop making my premium pymts.
